Here are a few pics from my recent visit to Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, the Las Vegas location of the hit reality TV show “Pawn Stars” on the History Channel.
Here's the pawn shop's sign.Think the walk-up window is the part that's open 24 hours. To get inside, the hours are 9 am to 9 pm.
The place is now a tourist destination, often with lines of 50-100 people to get in.
This looks like a "death clock." The one featured on episode of the Pawn Stars television show is different. The term "death clock" comes from the fact that the artisans who made these clocks in the early 1800s went insane and then died from mercury poisoning.
They even have Olympic medals and boxing championship belts.
I recommend picking up a copy of Pawn Stars shop co-owner Rick Harrison’s book about the store titled “License to Pawn.” It’s a lesson in Capitalism 101.
