FTC Cracks Down On Pop-Ups

The FTC whacked Movieland.com for using pop-ups that were nearly impossible to remove or minimize unless the user paid a fee. Moral of the story. Sleazy techniques are going to lead to more government intervention. If online practices aren’t self-policed, the government agencies will assume more control.
