FTC Weighs In For More Franchise Disclosures

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission shows no signs of slowing down its efforts to require biz opp disclosures. By July 2008, franchisers must conform to new requirements related to financial representations, the existence of confidentiality agreements, and franchisee association resources.

Look for these franchise requirements to become the model for “franchise lite” rules to replace the proposed biz opp rule that was strongly opposed last summer by network and Internet marketers.
