Beware of Bogus Business Directories
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) busted a Canadian company for billing businesses for advertisements and listings in non-existent directories.
Moral of the story: double-check those invoices. If you’ve got someone else handling accounts payable, make sure that they’re not cutting checks simply because an invoice looks legit.
