The Internet is filled with masonic conspiracy theories. If half were true, the world would be run by Freemasons.

Unfortunately, that is not the case. A world governed by the principles of freemasonry would be a better place … one where you could believe in a Supreme Deity and respect the rights of others to hold religious beliefs other than your own.

Despite popular belief, freemasonry is not a religious or political organization. In fact, religion and politics aren’t discussed in Masonic lodges. However, no athiest can be made a Mason. Whether you’re a Christian (Catholic or Protestant), Jew, or Muslim is not important. In fact, I’m a Deist. What is important is whether you’re a good man. Freemasonry strives to make good men better.

If freemasonry isn’t for you, that’s okay. It isn’t for everyone.

However, if you’re interested in joining a fraternal brotherhood that lasts a lifetime … and beyond, ask a Mason that you know or your local Masonic lodge for more information.

While many people know that George Washington and Benjamin Franklin were prominent Freemasons who helped create the United States, you’ll probably be surprised to read how Masons like Sam Houston, Col. William Travis, Davie Crockett and Jim Bowie played key roles in founding the Republic of Texas.
