Murdering Spammers? The Russian Solution
Tired of being spammed with Viagra ads? Think that a fine or a few years in Club Fed isn’t a punishment that suits the crime?
Instead of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the CAN-SPAM Act, the Russians apparently have a different method.
Two spammers have been assassinated since 2005…the most recent was on the receiving end of multiple bullets including one to the head.
Am I advocating vigilante justice? No.
Am I sorry these two cretins died? Nope.
In my book, those who choose to spam as their occupation should permanently lose their online access and be exiled to Siberia without a coat.

This reminds me of a practice I heard of in a newsgroup — someone came across a pornographer cybersquatting on brandname misspelling domain names, so to get him to stop it, they looked up where his business was located. It turned out he was in Iran, so they reported him to his local authorities in order to get him executed, since that sort of business enterprise is looked down upon over there.
What would your opinion be of that approach? It’s legal, though pretty extreme…
I’d rank cybersquatting up there with spamming (but below RIAA and MPAA thuggery) as top online annoyances. Wouldn’t personally report the guy to the Iranian theocracy but understand the sentiment behind doing so.
