Perry Belcher: Checkmate

perry-belcher-checkmatePer his post today, Perry Belcher: Turning the Page, Belcher has quit Internet marketing training. There were a variety of reasons why this happened. Some of them are listed in Belcher’s post. It appears that he has substantially shut down most sites and his Twitter account.

The Truth about Perry Belcher Internet Marketer

I have no doubt that Belcher will continue marketing online behind-the-scenes. Today’s announcement is essentially an abdication of guru status for purposes of public speaking, big launches in his own name, etc. If he stays within the boundaries of the law and adds value in his future business dealings, he will undoubtedly succeed over the long term. Personally, I hope that he does.

Remember that the purpose of bringing the Belcher arrest and guilty plea to light was to serve as a warning to others. Whether you think Perry Belcher is a saint or a sinner, he took certain actions that put him in the government cross-hairs as a target. If you take the same actions, you’re risking the same negative consequences (or worse).

If you comment on this post about Perry’s “retirement,” please be civil.

Mr. Mike Young, thank you so much for this blog. While some people may not take Mr. Satly Droid seriously because of his language and creativity, your blog will remind those who want to deceive themselves or others into thinking that these D-bags are victims to tread lightly.

    Hi,

Came across your website because it was mentioned on jjluna.com questions and responses. I read and heard Perry claims that someone threaten his family but did not know the real story. As I stated on jjluna.com I got put into one of Informastry’s forced continuity programs and they been billing me forever despite the fact I canceled my membership. I used a prepaid debit card so I’m not concerned. They get declined every month.

First I must say that I was really upset when I heard Perry had been bullied out of the business.

He has been a massive influence on me personally and I will miss him.

Also, his remarks about people missing out on his teaching is absolutely true.

I don’t know how many people who read this have been through his trainings, but he is
an absolute genius. And I don’t use that word lightly. He is a HUGE loss to aspiring business people.

I’ve read a few blog posts and heard some ridiculous comments, such has his products being scams, etc.

I’ve also seen him tormented over his arrest from a few years back… For those who don’t know Perry, consider this:

    1. Yes, he made a mistake. He also filmed himself on camera sincerely apologizing for this mistake, and posted it on youtube. Not just a short “sorry”… An emotional, heartfelt apology. How many people would have the guts to do that and show the whole world?

    2. Since this mistake he’s been probably the most ethical and sincere teacher in internet marketing.

Anyone who thinks his products are scams have obviously not been through them. Because I’ve used almost
all of his trainings (Even the earlier ones when he wasn’t well known), and I can tell you they are some of the
most valuable trainings you could possibly purchase.

He puts absolutely everything into his trainings. And his knowledge is WAY ahead of even the biggest names in the business. By the way, in his trainings he also repeats over and over again how important it is to provide brilliant value to your customers and clients and treat them like gold. A lesson I’ve tried to put to action in my business.

The reason I’ve got all his trainings is that most other things are pale in comparison (there ARE a few other exceptional products, but most don’t come close).

As for the ridiculous arguments I’ve seen about the high price of some of his products… I don’t get this at all. Every product I’ve bought from him I’ve used to make at the very least a 10X return.

I bought his $27 course called Get money from google, and made back several hundred dollars in the first week.

And years ago, his wholesale traffic system for $2000… I don’t know the exact return but it’s a big reason I’ve been able to take my business past the 6 figure a year mark.

But the biggest reason I’m upset about this is that Perry is simply a great guy. I only know him through his trainings, but I would love to know him personally.

He just CARES about people. You can hear it in his voice when he teaches. He is SO sincere and caring. I’ve loved every second of being his customer.

I just don’t get why people are picking on such a great guy who has done nothing but give his all
and share his wealth of knowledge for the last few years.

By the way, he will have the last laugh. Without a shadow of a doubt.

As I said, not many are smarter than him. Whatever he goes into he will succeed spectacularly.

It’s not even a matter of luck. It’ll happen for sure.

    Geoff,

Thanks for sharing your views. As I’ve mentioned before, when the facts are on the table, the people can decide for themselves. Some view him as a sinner. Some as a saint. Very few stake out the middle ground.

Without referring to the ethics of the situation, I’d classify Perry with Kevin Trudeau, Vincent James, and Gary Halbert. Each has/had natural marketing talent with the ability to impact many lives (for good or bad). And in the process, each took certain actions that resulted in the government coming after them.

What I find intriguing are those who have the same talent but chose a different path.

Just a matter of how you define success.

    Best wishes,

    -Mike

  9. Ben says:

    Hello Mike,

I must admit I am intrigued by Perry Belcher. As someone newly interested in internet business, I first heard about Perry when he appeared on an internet business podcast as a guest. I couldn’t help but like the guy. He was passionate, what he said resonated with me, and it was in my opinion the most entertaining episode from this particular podcast. A google search for on his name brought me to your blog.

I read your post discussing internet marketers’ “groupthink.” It seems to me that one of the key elements of this guru-based internet business world is that the actual product is downplayed; it’s an afterthought in the game to get the internet marketer the lifestyle that he or she wants. In hindsight, Perry’s statements along the lines of “[the ‘expert’ is just the first to hang the sign on his door]” and “ [“I don’t create an information product unless I can finish it in a day”] seem consistent with a more general pattern of cutting corners in this space. I guess the cayenne pepper cure-all pills were the ingestible analogue of these practices. I wonder what his reasoning was…maybe that even “legitimate” supplement claims are generally bogus and that he’s selling the “placebo effect.” I do agree with the reviewer above that Perry comes across as a very sincere and knowledgeable individual. Thus I am intrigued.

    Ben,
Thanks for your comment. Many people are intrigued by Perry Belcher. So much talent and wrong choices made when applying that talent.
Imagine how far ahead Belcher would be if he had played by the rules.
    Best wishes,
    -Mike
