Federal Trade Commission Cracks Down On Pop-Ups

By January 17, 2007June 19th, 2010Internet Lawyer

The Federal Trade Commission whacked Movieland.com for using pop-ups that were nearly impossible to remove or minimize unless the user paid a fee. Moral of the story. Sleazy techniques are going to lead to more government intervention by the FTC at a minimum. If online practices aren’t self-policed, government agencies like the Federal Trade Commission will assume more control.
