Think a website privacy policy is a waste of time? Perhaps if you read all of them. Did you know it would take you about a month to review all of the privacy policies for the sites you will visit this year (e.g. Google Privacy Policy)?
Frankly, that’s ridiculous…and one of the reasons why some people don’t read website privacy policies.
However, you’re often giving up important legal rights under these policies. Many talk about the site you’re visiting taking your personal information, selling it to others, or tracking you when you leave the site to surf elsewhere.
If you own a website or blog, it’s important to have a transparent website privacy policy because you will have visitors to your website who will want to know what the heck you’re doing with their information.
It’s a trust factor. Make sure you earn it.
