Tony asked his business lawyer to fix a contract he received from a supplier.
When his attorney told him how much it would cost to make the revisions he wanted, the fee stunned Tony.
What Tony didn’t realize is that it costs more to fix problems with the other party’s agreement. Because it takes time to make changes and fill holes in the draft.
Unless you’re dealing with a large company, you should be able to negotiate a deal from your agreement. Not use a lopsided contract prepared by the other side’s team of lawyers.
So, it saves you time and money to use one with favorable terms. Don’t try to fix a contract from the other party if you can use your own agreement.
